The Power Pole (如意棒 'Nyoibō', lit. "Compliant Pole", or more correctly "Staff That Obeys One's Will") is a magical, length-changing staff that is owned and wielded by Goku for most of the original Dragon Ball series. Before Master Roshi gave the Power Pole to Grandpa Gohan (who later gave it to Goku prior to the start of Dragon Ball), it was owned by Korin. Although Goku uses it primarily as a weapon, its true purpose is to use its size-changing ability to travel from Korin Tower to The Lookout.

The Power Pole was of course handed down from Grandpa Gohan to Goku, then he gave it to Ayame for her first-ever Dragon Ball hunt on her own. This functioned as melee and sentient weapon, as she uses it to reach distant places discreetly, such as ledges in the allies, or the ladder beside the Mikado Dome. Heck, she even did a swinging kick onto several security guards as she extended it onto the floor and ceiling! Even on the multiple robots while descending the Rocket Tower; Dominique even grew worried it could break from the multiple hits, but Ayame assured it was indestructible!
In the Yakuza Saga, Ayame used it again for its same melee style, even saving her, Echidna, and Leann from falling to their demise after the floor collapsed at the Mikado Dome. At one point, it was even snatched away and swallowed by the Biolizard, though she was able to get it back as it upchucked it!
