Roan is the teenage son of the sorcerer Azmuth. He appears in The Quest for Beasts, beginning with the episode Like Father, Like Son, which aired on November 23, 1999. He is voiced by Jason Marsden in the series and he also makes two appearances in The Quest for Beasts: A New Generation, in which his voice is provided by Nolan North.
Biography[]
Roan was born presumably in the 4th or 3rd century BC, or presumably sometime before that. He is the only child of the sorcerer Azmuth and his mother is later revealed in A New Generation to be the half-demon sorceress Jorah (it is also revealed that Azmuth is in fact Roan's adopted father). At some time in his childhood, Jorah vanished and was thought to be dead. Azmuth subsequently was left to raise his son alone and taught him dark magic. Sometime later, he acquired a familiar; a talking fox called Ember.
Appearance and personality[]
Roan is a pale-skinned young man with black shoulder-length hair and amber eyes. Although he is thousands of years old, he retains the appearance of a man in his late teens to early twenties. He generally sports a green and black outfit which comes with a green cloak and hood with gold trim. Roan is just as manipulative and dangerous as his father, however he claims to be just as powerful. There are, however, occasions in which Roan behaves like a typical grungy teen. However, in A New Generation, he is much more pragmatic and caring, having made up with his former enemies.
