The story begins with widowed research officer Galen Erso, raising his young daughter Jyn since his wife Lyra died of childbirth. They live in a farm on the planet Lah'mu. However, when the presence of Imperial weapon developer Orson Krennic gets word, Galen is shocked, and asks his young daughter to hide, giving her a kyber crystal (which Lyra wore for the wedding) to put around her neck to remember him by. Krennic arrives and presses Galen to complete his Emperor's giant planet atomizing weapon, the Death Star, which is about the size of a planet itself. While Krennic takes Galen away, Jyn escapes, and is taken to safety by rebel extremist Saw Gerrera.

Hope Delivered! Rogue One Forever

After K2SO sacrifices himself for Jyn and Cassian to retrieve the data for the Death Star flaw, they head over to the satellite to transfer the Death Star flaws. However, Commander Krennic ambushes them.
Meanwhile, Îmwe activates the master switch to allow communication with the Rebels, but at the cost of his own life. Malbus is gravely wounded in the stormtrooper crossfire, and Rook rushes to his aide. The stormtroopers surround them, but Malbus activates the trigger on the grenade over Rook in a kamikaze attack, but not before saying that it's been an honor serving him. Krennic mortally wounds Jyn while she transmits the flaws. Krennic shouts in anger asking her what she did, and she answers that she has delivered hope to the Rebels. Krennic tries to shoot her head off, but Cassian shoots him instead. Grand Moff Tarkin orders a low-power shot to destroy the command base in response to Krennic's failure. The beam hits the base and the section of Scarif. The resulting explosion engulfs Cassian, holding a dying Jyn (whose last words were the she has avenged her father), and Krennic. As the Rebels prepare to jump to hyperspace with the stolen plans, Darth Vader boards the flagship in an attempt to steal the plans back, but the Tantive IV escapes in time with the plans before Vader could retrieve them. Aboard the ship, Princess Leia Organa of Alderan holds the plans in her hand, hoping that they will help the Rebellion. The series ends, setting the stage for a new hope... |
