Rydia (pronounced [ˈɹɪ.di.ə.]), sometimes referred to as Rydia of Mist, is a playable character in Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. She is a Summoner from the village of Mist and is one of the most prominent characters.
Conquest of the Blue Planet[]
Rydia was seen at the Feymarch when her Eidolon friends were suffering from the Injukhal drums; they have more sensitive hearing than humans. As were Leviathan and Asura. Then she witnessed a cute baby Bomb explode in front of his parent Bomb. And thru the tragedy, the drums died, and they mourned for the poor Bomb. Rydia then vowed to put an end to the Injukhal threat once and for all! So, she headed out of the Underworld and met up with an airship consisting of Kain, Yang, Edge and their fellow comrades. She was part of the Fleet of Hope, till it crashed en route to Tenebre! Rydia was seen again as she rode Leviathan when Cecil fell off a precipice. She reiterated what was going on, and Cecil said he needed to get the Glamour Greens for Rosa's delivery sickness and halt the Injukhal regime. She and her Eidolons faired very well, even when she casted Stop onto the drums!
After Cecil and Kain weakened Domin from his Deimos form, she was shocked to see the Shadow Dragon, telepathically used by Golbez, killing off Domin! She was actually grateful for his entrance and was amazed by the "miracle" of the shiny, lush Glamour Greens. She later on got introduced to Baron's new prince, Ceodore.
