Sektor is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. The former Grandmaster of both the Lin Kuei and the Cyber Lin Kuei, Sektor's insanity and remorseless nature has made him a major ally to the antagonists to the series while being a primary antagonist to the likes of Sub-Zero and Scorpion.

Sektor made his playable debut in Mortal Kombat 3 in his cyborg form. He retains this appearance until returning in Mortal Kombat (2011) in his human form before again appearing in his cyborg form.

Sektor returns in Mortal Kombat 11 as a non-playable character while serving as a minor antagonist in the game's Story Mode.

Debuting in Mortal Kombat 3, Sektor (codename LK-9T9) is a dire, menacing, and lethal cyberized ninja of the Lin Kuei clan of assassins. He represents the closest thing to evil a cyborg can possibly be, combining traits of a cold-blooded ninja, a fanatic loyalist, and a destructive killing machine fit for modern warfare. His most well-known combat abilities are his homing missile attack, teleport punch, and flamethrower.

In stark contrast to his immediate counterpart Cyrax, Sektor never bothered to rediscover his human side, and may be unable to. Even in his human form, Sektor was utterly devoted to the Lin Kuei clan and, unlike Cyrax, Sub-Zero, and Smoke, never questioned or resisted the cyberization process.

Sometime after he became a cyborg, Sektor ascended to the rank of Grandmaster. However, he was eventually killed and usurped in both timelines by the younger Sub-Zero, who then went on to reform the clan altogether.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, Part II[]

Sektor was seen with Cyrax lurking in the Lin Kuei compound for Smoke and Sub-Zero. However, when the ninja was about to make his move, the duo was teleported onto the New York streets by Raiden. He still went on the pursuit, and after Kabal won over Cyrax, he went into the fray ambushing him! Smoke offered to take him on, despite the cryomancer's dismay and anxiety on aiding him. Sektor was on even footing with his rival, though he gradually had the upper hand. Until he was subdued via Aiko's cardiokinesis disabling his heart, and frozen by the Lin Kuei fugitive! He initiated a self-destruct sequence which persuaded Smoke to teleport him away, nearly catching the heroic cyborg in the blast!

As soon as he exploded in the air, there was a brunette male in a falsetto tone that shouted "Toasty!".

After Liu Kang destroyed Kahn, Smoke confessed to Kuai that he was able to retrieve a microchip left over by Sektor's decimated shell. According to Nightwolf's analysis it consisted of data concerning the massacre of the Shirai Ryu and Quan Chi's involvement with Bi-Han...

Shinnok's Uprising[]

Since Sektor was obliterated in the air, Smoke and Nightwolf only found and analyzed his data chip. They found Quan Chi and Bi-Han as fuzzy, red footage played with surveillance over the Grandmaster's throne room, and some other area where the sorcerer confessed in front of Sub-Zero and Scorpion that he was responsible for killing the latter's clan!! He was about to send the assassin into the Netherrealm, then he ran into the demon sending them both away before the footage went blank. With the new intel, Hanzo was able to regain his senses and vowed to put an end to Quan Chi and bring peace to his doomed family.

Final Kombat[]

Sektor was first seen inside Argus' temple as he struck Taven from behind and taken prisoner within his Tekunin warship. He tortured him as he interrogated the lone warrior of his father's words, since he was unable to retrieve all the intel; however, his battleship was bombed while Sonya alerted him to surrender! Thanks to the sudden onslaught, Taven took his chance to escape! Courtesy of his advanced skills thru Argus' training in the obelisk, he was able to best Sektor and his men and bail out before the warship crashlanded!

Sektor was soon dragged into the Battle of Armageddon with Oniro, and he dealt with Cyrax who an eloper from the Lin Kuei was. He punished him and chipped away some of his armor with rockets and other lethal maneuvers before he was ambushed by Smoke who was evenly matched. That was until the firestorm hit. Smoke and Cyrax were still heavily damaged from the impact, as well as Cetrion's tears; however, Sektor wasn't as lucky.
