The Sheriff of Nottingham is a large humanoid wolf who is the tertiary antagonist in The Grand Adventure. He (along with Meowrice) worked for the evil Prince John.
The Sheriff was sent by The Prince to tax the town of Nottingham and capture Goofy and his son - so he can destroy their home. But with Goofy and Max gone out on their adventure - The Sheriff later joined up with Meowrice to take Mewsette to The Prince. But after Mewsette escaped from Nottingham - Meowrice and The Sheriff got arrested. It is unknown the villains were hanged for treason or not.
The Sheriff is voiced by Pat Buttram in Robin Hood and later by Bill Farmer in The Grand Adventure and the 100 Acre Wood video game series.
The Sheriff returned in The Grand Adventure: The Sequel. He joined up with Gaston to capture Tom and Jerry for a million dollar reward. But The Sheriff is foiled by Sharpears the Vixen. He is later arrested by King Richard.
In The Visitor, it is revealed he is the brother of Captain Rook, who is searching for William Locksley, Robin's father. At the end, he later reforms and becomes an uncle to Robin and Marian's children.
