The Silver Surfer is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character also appears in a number of movies, television, and video game adaptations. The character was created by Jack Kirby and first appeared in the comic book Fantastic Four #48, published in 1966.
The Silver Surfer is a humanoid alien with metallic skin who can travel through space with the aid of his surfboard-like craft. Originally a young astronomer named Norrin Radd on the planet Zenn-La, he saved his homeworld from the planet devourer, Galactus, by serving as his herald. Imbued in return with some portion of Galactus' Power Cosmic, Radd acquired vast power, a new body and a surfboard-like craft on which he could travel faster than light. Now known as the Silver Surfer, Radd roamed the cosmos searching for planets for Galactus to consume. When his travels took him to Earth, he met the Fantastic Four, who helped him rediscover his nobility of spirit. Betraying Galactus, the Surfer saved Earth but was exiled there as punishment.
In 2011, IGN ranked Silver Surfer 41st in its "Top 100 Comic Heroes" list. He was portrayed by Doug Jones and voiced by Laurence Fishburne in the 2007 film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Ikran's Fantastic 4 OC series[]
He was first seen as a rapidly moving comet that can shut down power across the globe, causing all the anomalies and craters throughout, and even reviving Victor Von Doom. In Reed and Sue's wedding, the comet deactivated the high-tech telescope, caused the helicopter to crash onto the courtyard, and make Terri black out! Johnny chased after it, but the metallic surfer was able to traverse thru solids and disable his powers. Reed stated his molecules were in constant flux, making the team switch powers if they should make contact with the Human Torch. They followed him to London, though he got away, and the lake dried up while the Millennium Eye was reassembled. Gen. Hager was outraged, so Victor was hired as he encountered the alien; the only way was to separate him from his board. The tectonic pulse was successful, and he and the group were taken to Moscow. Sue did interrogate him, as he was working for Galactus to spare his world and his lover; Sue reminded him of her, hence protecting her from the missile fired to him in Germany. They broke him out while Victor stole the board, and Reed chased it using the FantastiCar before it crashlanded at Shanghai.
Terri was thrilled of his real name, Sue sacrificed herself protecting Norrin, and Victor was defeated by Johnny fusing their powers. Sue died, but only temporarily as Norrin revived her and he was convinced that people do make a choice. He then made the noble decision on destroying Galactus and himself to spare Earth!
Two years later, Terri spotted a silvery object floating in space thanks to Reed's telescope, as she never believed the Surfer to be gone. She actually summoned the AstroWing and spotted the metallic object which caused Lucille to fire automatically onto the threat. It fired back, causing the ship to shut down! Terri came to, but there were no footprints as she noticed the ship was warm and she's covered in a blanket. Upon observation, it was Norrin! He stated he was in exile since he defied and destroyed Galactus, thus being unable to return home. Terri volunteered to bring Shalla-Bal to him instead, and maybe his people so they can colonize Mars and Earth! Norrin escorted her and Reed to the edge of the galaxy, where he was prevented on leaving by a massive forcefield! They sadly left him behind, though after they visited Zenn-La, they promised to save Shalla from Mephisto.
Norrin went thru every destination that were foreshadowed by Reed, Terri and his family, assisting the group, Fennan and Trake. Unfortunately, Shalla wasn't found in each, but to one domain, Mephisto's. In the wee hrs, he left the mothership and pursued her alone, that was till he assisted the AstroWing and made the decision to have one member fuse their powers, with Reed as the volunteer. He and Norrin took the fight directly to Mephisto and chased after him, desperate for Shalla's soul, while they left the AstroWing behind, He was told by the overlord she's already dead, and he was willing to sacrifice her soul to meet her and surrender his Power Cosmic, but her brother took the blow instead! The AstroWing came to his aide and helped escape from the immortal!
It was only then he noticed that Shalla-Bal's soul was separated from her body, then Fennan passed on. He was desperate to go to the Magik Domain, but he couldn't access it, making the quintet go on without him; however, he and the mothership were able to spare their lives from a black hole! He actually taught Shalla how to re-enter her vessel, though it was a tight gamble. Fortunately, she was alive as was his brother!! He made a tearful reunion with Shalla never wanting to leave her side ever again!
Trake implied that Norrin's no longer in exile and he's free to roam back to Zenn-La. To Terri it'll be hard to say goodbye and miss him. He said he owed everyone his life, she responded, "A life is never owed if saved out of friendship." With the mothership, Norrin bid his friends farewell, and every night, they watched the stars and wondered if Norrin should return again someday.
Trivia[]
- Ikran had a big history with the Silver Surfer, HUGE!! She first encountered him in the infamous NES game, The Silver Surfer, since she was around 5-6 years old! It was very hard, but she still got intrigued of him, even when she remembered the comic, The Spider and the Surfer from the mom-and-pop shop, same one where she saw the NES game! The third time was actually Rise of the Silver Surfer in which she considered to be his best portrayal, especially with Laurence Fishburne as the ideal actor for him since! She hadn't known the FoxKids animated series existed till several years later, even though it was a short series! She desperately wished he'd be explored more in the MCU!
