Sion Barzahd is a playable protagonist from The Bouncer.
A bouncer at the bar, Fate. He lost his love two years ago, which has caused him to distance himself from others. However, Dominique's innocence is slowly helping Sion to open up again. Sion always wears silver necklaces, and his favorite brand of clothing is DOG STREET.
Orphaned as a child, Sion encountered Wong after watching him participate in a street fight and was taken in by him under as both his son and disciple. Living with him and training in Wong's martial arts, Sion also grew up with Kaldea Orchid, a smart and curious, yet frail girl. Everything appeared to be going swell for Sion - until Wong mysteriously vanished when he was 14. He eventually got involved in a relationship with his childhood friend and congratulated her on being hired for a prestigious position in the Mikado Group. Later on, her parents informed Sion that Kaldea died in a most unfortunate work-related accident.
Sion's feelings of sorrow at the loss of his loved ones soon turned into resentment and anger, as he picked fights and desired for someone in the dangerous slums of Edge to end his life. Being directed to the saloon of FATE on Dog Street, Sion stirred up a large bar fight and attempted to provoke the attention of Volt Krueger to kill him. Surprised at his tenacity and endurance, Boss offered him the chance to turn his life around and start again with the opportunity of being a bouncer.

The Mikado Saga[]
Sion was first seen at the top floor in the Fate bar, and he was irritated when Dominique showed up late for her shift. Before his shift began, he was given a silver pendant by Dominique as a gift for his first anniversary as a Bouncer, till Mikado's Special Forces raided the bar! He, Volt, and Kou were being overmatched and Dominique got captured and taken to Mikado! Sion became anxious to go there, and they needed to board a cargo train in 30 mins. They barely did as they were being distracted by pursuing Rent-a-cops and Sion managed to leap onboard!
He was still desperate, wondering if Dominique's on the train, although Volt informed, she should be in Mikado. They were then ambushed by several more Rent-a-cops along with Volt's rival, Echidna. Then, the brakes were cut thanks to the Orage's firing, and Sion failed to find the card key, resulting the seawater to deluge the maze! He barely escaped as he was the last when he slipped, though Kou saved him before he got trapped by one of the emergency shutters. They boarded an Air-Carrier and got stranded in the hanging garden, then defeated Mikado's Special Forces. Sion was still determined to save the damsel and never lose anyone else.
Sion and Ayame
He soon met Ayame unexpectedly and accepted her help since she could fight and extend her Power Pole to get to the Dome, although he witnessed his master, Wong, get killed by Dauragon! He became even more determined to avenge his death and save Dominique, although the fight with him and the panther was nearly too much, especially the sucker punch he received! The trio became separated, and Sion managed to survive. He was still hotheaded as he bashed thru security searching for the damsel, till he got wounded by a tough gang of robots and cops. Ayame saved him and he was impressed she can use her ki. They both teamed up to find Dominique and the Dragon Ball in her possession, then found a secret chamber! The panther caught them off guard and opened a lab with a laptop consisting secret intel of the Mikado Corp, including Kaldea! He continued his search till he was ambushed by the same panther, then turned into a woman in which he never recognized. He was then ambushed and strangled by Mugetsu as Dominique was just inches away!
He was soon saved by Volt as he threw a Mook in which clobbered Mugetsu's back, then reunited with him and Kou, along with meeting Goten and Trunks. After the Special Forces were defeated, he had a tender moment with Dominique, till Volt instructed they should take the rocket tower! Unfortunately, security activated the robots, and one Bouncer has to escort Dominique; Sion and Ayame volunteered while the others distracted the guards. They barely survived, then Dominique explained even Wong helped her escape and got lost in the city; despite that she was happy she was free, and Sion was happy to lead her home. Ayame then unveiled the secret of the Dragon Balls and promised Sion to wish back his master, although he wouldn't want Kaldea back since he had feelings for Dominique.
On their foot to freedom, they were ambushed by a PD-4, one of those he discovered on the CPU. He, Volt and Kou deactivated it, though they were surrounded by 5 more! Dominique went haywire and wiped them out; much to Sion's horror, she's an android. Sion was still stunned, even when she was caught by Mugetsu! It was hard for him to accept, especially since she's the replica of Mikado's dead sister as a weapon of destruction. They soon defeated Echidna and found an Air-Carrier to reach the Galeos. Then, he and Kou fought off Mugetsu, and he was so close to be pulled down, till the Triple Kamehameha Wave. He confronted the panther and was surprised it was Kaldea; who erased her existence and was used for bionoid technology as Dauragon orchestrated a "tragic accident." Only to have her be lost to Sion again as he killed her with his chain!! He stormed to the control center and the Bouncers were trapped in!
He then discovered Dauragon's true motives on ruling the world with absolute power with a solar-powered satellite and Dominique as its laser-guiding system! He commanded Dominique to stop which her control was broken and shut down the system. Sion was outraged and confronted the tyrant with Volt and Kou, but they were unsuccessful after three lethal fights! Sion was down, even when the Saiyan kids made their move, till Ayame was held hostage! Luckily, she was able to shove a Senzu Bean down their mouths, restoring their vitality, and Sion unleashed a Hurricane Blitz from behind!! Ayame unleashed all her ki, then Goten and Trunks finished him with their own sucker punch! Sion and the other men recovered, and he was soon in Dominique's arms, assuring her nightmares are finally over. She then led the heroes out as Sion accepted her dream of the Galeos splitting, before it collided with the satellite. He hesitated to recover Kaldea's body, but he thought it was for the best to let her rest in peace, he prayed.

The next day, the heroes were escorted back to Dog Street as the Nimbus took him there with Ayame and the Saiyan kids. He then started his shift at the repaired bar, only to have a dream of his master at a forest attending a final lesson. Wong was impressed by Sion besting him in battle and he advised only when he opens his heart, he shall be stronger, the spirit's the key to his strength. Dominique woke him up and she was thrilled he decided to wear her pendant. Then they accepted an invitation to visit Capsule Corp and repair the android.
Sion was fascinated of the place, as the contrary of Mikado. He opened up to the Brief family, even Dr. Brief. He was then taken in by Trunks before Wong was revived and reunited with his disciple; it was a tearful reunion from the young hero! He was then waiting in the lobby till Bulma announced the operation was successful, and for once he and Dominique kissed!
Finally, he accepted Echidna as the new Bouncer, and it was soon time for the Z-Fighters to leave Edge! Ayame shall miss Sion most of all, and he assured her they can see each other again!
The Drabble of Dog Street[]
Sion was showing Ayame a little tour of Dog Street. When they stopped at the central plaza, she was curious how Dog Street got its name. Wong told him there was an incident that changed its outlook; it used to have a lot of bustling businesses, even a pet shop, until a troubled teen let loose the animals and was shot by rent-a-cops. He was suffering from acute sensory, and no one cared. Then, the location transformed as crime skyrocketed and the symbol turned from a Black Labrador to a dog with crossbones.
Black-Hooded Sion Saga[]
Before his 20th birthday, he's been suffering from nightmares, mostly those at the Crystal Dome fighting Dauragon and being accused of his master's death. On that night, he received a few gifts including donations from Capsule Corp, a mix tape, a Dragon Ball pendant, a stuffed black panther, and biker gloves. He picked out the Sapporo, the strongest alcoholic beverage in Boss' inventory, which later manifested his dark persona. He found himself on a rooftop and embraced the full moon filling him with the thrill of his new indulgence like Dauragon's, the pleasure of fighting for the sake of it! He took down several gangsters, till his night shift at Fate, while hiding his alt persona in daylight. He was consumed more as he desired to be the lone wolf of Dog Street, being the dominant male fighter! Starting to take all shifts for himself, much to Kou's dismay! He demanded to have another Sapporo till he was confronted by Volt which agitated him more. He was about to kill him as he failed to do last time, until he backed away after hitting Dominique! He was startled on what he'd done and stormed out to an alley where his master was being mangled! He saved him only to experience a painful fission! As he was recovering, he regretted himself so much.
Soon after he was banned from Fate by Boss as he suspected him to be the shadow making several murder cases. Then he came face to face with his dark double! Only to lose to him as he made a Dark Kamehameha Wave. As Volt and Kou ganged on him, even Sion felt the pain, and he was too stunned as he saw Dominique get carried away to Mikado! Wong then decided to train Sion on meditation, fighting his inner demons, and mastering the Kamehameha! He did, even when he was reliving his dark past. Though he still had a ways to go. He then had a dream in which young Kaldea encouraged him to keep living and save Dominique. Then he wrote an emotional letter for his friends to honor his death if he shouldn't return. He then boarded the Nimbus, went to the blue maze again, and lost his energy with the reanimated enemies, even draining his strength while performing the Kamehameha. He was out when Gohan saved his life.
He woke up at the hanging garden when Gohan introduced himself and offered to help him find his doppelganger while plowing thru more of his undead henchmen. As he ascended the rocket tower, the Saiyan assisted him. And he wished a nervous Bouncer luck. He met up with Jet Black and combatted him with every move, even those Jet Black mimicked. Especially the clashing Kamehameha Wave of Light and Dark Ki! Sion survived the ordeal, thanks to his stronger, cleansed spirit, and accepted Jet Black as himself that manifested since he became an edgelord. Even after Jet Black threatened, he shall always be a part of him, Sion accepted just that.
He reunited with Dominique who forgave him for his sporadic actions. Then they decided to move away from Edge and be at his old homestead with Wong!
The Yakuza Saga[]

A few years later, Sion went sparring with the android, impressed with her moves and strength. Then, as his shift started at the newly expanded Fate, he reunited with Ayame! He and Dominique both offered her to become a new Bouncer and bookkeeper since her organizational skills are admired. Then by the next day, the neo-Yakuza attacked! Sion, Volt and Dominique fought vigilantly, till they discovered Kou worked undercover. He, Volt and Sion went on foot after the members, then he used his ki sense to find those from hiding, including a certain hooded figure who knocked out the Bouncers seamlessly!
Sion's mind was then reawakened, only to serve his new okubun. The trio combatted Ayame, Echidna and Leann though they were impressed by their prowess. They even made their own Trinity Rush, only to have Ayame's light ki be unleashed, despite being hindered by the mounting dark ki. Their okubun, who turned out to be Dauragon trapped the women beneath the collapsing floor! Then Sion was enlisted to find Dominique at the old homestead. He sensed a little stowaway, Goten, though he never found him as he was too quick on his feet! He was about to have his fingers removed till Chiaotzu intervened and removed the Bouncers' microchips controlling their minds! Sion was rendered unconscious, even when they were escorted to the Lookout. By the time Dauragon was destroyed for good, he soon woke up. Wong and Dominique were relieved, though Chiaotzu wasn't convinced. He then received word that Ayame lost her family due to the Yakuza's assaults, and he assured her she shall become a new Bouncer with her new family asap.
A few years later, he had the heart to marry Dominique, and he was still Fate's promising Bouncer, even as a Z-Fighter trainee at the Lookout.
Trivia[]
- Sion has a doppelganger known as Sion - Jet Black, aka Black-Hooded Sion. He has his own signature theme song and outfit. He can be unlocked by successfully completing Survival Mode using any character; he's the last obstacle there. He can only be used in VS Mode and Survival Mode.
- The fans were right that Sora from Kingdom Hearts resembles Sion; the designer, Tetsuya Nomura, recycled him as his expy. He's also known to have a similar image to Squall from Final Fantasy VIII.
- Sion is Ikran's topmost favorite character in The Bouncer, so much so that she even made him as an aspiring Z-Fighter, and most of his roles were inspired by Sion's Past on Fanfiction.net. He does have similar experiences to Ikran such as losing a loved one. To her, sometimes he reminds her of Rusty James from Rumble Fish ever since her freshman English class. Heck, when she heard the song, Killing in the Name, by Rage Against the Machine, she pictured Sion singing it. And while it was an accident, she downloaded a song called Kicks like a Mule by The Bouncer as it reminded her of Sion's move, the Torpedo Kick, which is similar to a mule's.
- Ikran has chosen Sion as one of her Video Game Characters she can Relate to, most notably his tragic past as they both lost loved one at a young age, they tend to be protective, loyal, bit of an outcast, paranoid, duty-driven, has a good heart and a rough exterior due to their past sorrows.
