Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, Part II[]

It was mentioned by Asgaarth that Raiden had been recuperating inside its Jinsei chamber, where all of Earthrealm's life was created since the dawn of time. He was assigned to defend it from any intruders from Outworld and Kahn's extermination squads. This place was hidden in secrecy though legends of it and the Jinsei were passed down to the sacred Shaolin Monks and some of the defenders of Earth.

Eventually, Aiko was taken there by Asgaarth and into the Jinsei chamber, as the two were uncertain on her surviving the armies below. Kung Lao was eventually warped there into the Jinsei fountain; however, it was unsuccessful recuperating him... The Temple became bleak, and Raiden was powerless as the merger was complete...

Until Liu Kang was successful on destroying Kahn!! Since his flexibility and momentum was vital against the Konquerer's brute strength! Visions of his fallen friends gave him the extra strength he needed to send the overlord over the Pit and into the deathly spinning blades below! With his body and soul obliterated, Earthrealm, Outworld, and the Jinsei were restored! Raiden, Aiko and Asgaarth watched on the summit, from the brutal battle, the collapse of Kahn's Fortress in which Raiden had just enough power to form a portal allowing Liu to escape, and peace returning at last! The Jinsei regained life and the ethereal place brightened while the sun peeked thru the sinister overcast, causing Kung Lao's eyes to flutter. Aiko immediately came to his side and greeted him with a kiss. His vision cleared and was relieved to see her, however, he'd been dreading over Liu Kang's curse since he won thrice... He assured he can deal with it being ageless as he was still mortal; this made Aiko and Lao dumbfounded. Raiden assured he'll discuss the matter with the Elder Gods, and they'd be easier to negotiate with. Lao offered to stay in the Jinsei and rest more, relieving his fatigue and aching body. Raiden reminded him that his nephew's worried for him, and he mustn't linger on his doubts not having the peace last for long. He eventually rested and accepted Aiko staying with him. They made a passionate kiss before they slumbered, while Raiden proudly watched over the world once more after he escorted the warriors back to the Wu Shi Academy.

Shinnok's Uprising[]

Jade and Johnny Cage were finally revived within the Jinsei Chamber after two years. This was also where Fujin warned Raiden of Shinnok's escape and assault onto the heavens. It soon was the place where Kung Lao and Aiko recuperated after Shinnok manipulated their hearts while the fallen Elder God was decimated by Liu and the God brothers.

Return of the Dragon King[]

Within the Jinsei Chamber, Raiden's lifeforce was hanging by a measly thread as Fujin transported himself, Lao, Liu and Nightwolf from the Thunder God's desperate explosion. Lao was the last Kombatant to come to and Fujin stated that he and Liu were the last hope on saving all realms from Onaga and his undead army. He created a portal leading to Edenia, hoping for Queen Sindel and her royal guard on a method to slay the invincible Dragon King,

Raiden was still in his weakened state as he and Fujin sensed the former's doppelganger; Fujin had suspicions as he noticed red lightning from Outworld as he escorted Li Mei to safety. They then discussed as former Elder Gods, like Shinnok, they can make doubles of themselves, although the Wind God refused to do it as it took a lot of vitality. Raiden did just that as he sacrificed himself on Onaga, thus being reformed in Outworld, then merged and wreaked havoc in Earthrealm. Raiden implored Fujin to stop him and his enforcer while Raiden remained; he then implored Nightwolf to activate the EMP and conjure a rainstorm to buy him time to recuperate! He was successful as the storm rejuvenated him, courtesy of the Matokan's ancestors. He soon teleported himself, the injured Fujin and Nightwolf back in preparation for the dangerous Sin Eater ritual.

The monks were held in patrol as they awaited the results of Onaga's battle. While Raiden and Fujin observed the dragon's fight in the Jinsei. The former offered Ashrah to escort Nightwolf out of the Netherrealm when the time comes, and soon the fountain was packed with bodies recuperating quickly. All except Lao and Liu. Nightwolf and Ashrah made it back and the shaman offered to help the spiritual cleansing and transition. The sky flashed with lightning once the Matokan and gods were deep in the ritual. Minutes later, the Shaolin recovered fully and the Kombatants reunited!

Final Kombat[]

Fujin was at the Sky Temple with Ashrah moping on his brother's and Liu's sacrifices by Blaze's eruption amongst a rainstorm outside. Ashrah assured they'd do well as the new protectors of Earth and Raiden chose well. Fujin still occupies the place, if need be, aside from relaxing at the Wind World.

Koherence[]

The Sky Temple was watched over by Ashrah as Raiden left for the Matokan territory and Fujin kept a watchful eye on the Shaolin. She welcomed him as his small group of bandmates, fascinated on the song they'll perform to restore the White Lotus' hearts and safeguard Aiko's when the Matokan ceremony should start. They, Kenshi, Jerrod and Goro were rehearsing with Aiko emitting positive energy via heart gems from the soulshifter, the Wind God, and the blind swordsman. They theorized that whoever has her gems would receive powerful endorphins during the performance and restore the Shaolin to the light since they have them! Although they were actually relieved that she forgot to bring hers, and she was distracted by the drums last night, thus hiding it away. Aiko functioned as the conductor/director since it was her idea, Ashrah played bass, Kenshi on keyboards, Ermac on keytar, Goro on percussion, and Fujin as lead vocalist and woodwind player!

They rehearsed there, and at one point Raiden dropped by and he was impressed by Fujin and Aiko's plan. He wished them luck, till everyone felt Aiko's heart gems held by her, Jerrod, Kenshi and Fujin that were emanating tremors by the Matoka drums during warmups and the ceremony itself. Fujin gave the signal to start the concert first with a fanfare announcement made by him and Aiko before they signaled Kenshi to play his keyboard. Jerrod joined in as did Goro and Ashrah, then Fujin as he was the lead singer. Everyone performed in sync overriding the distant murmurs until it was over. That was when Fujin offered to do the backup number, encouraging everyone we are the Champions of all the realms! It was just enough time and ferocity to take over the Matoka within their hearts and uplifted the Shaolins' spirits!

Trivia[]

  • The Sky Temple was inspired by and in part modelled after the Sears Tower (Willis Tower), which is like the Sky Temple as both are 1,666 feet tall and, like Midway Games, is located in Chicago.
