Son Goku ( 'Son Gokū'), born Kakarot (カカロット 'Kakarotto'), is the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball series. Goku is a Saiyan male originally sent to destroy Earth as an infant. After a head injury at an early age alters his memory, ridding him of his initial destructive nature and allowing him to grow up to become one of Earth's greatest defenders. He constantly strives and trains to be the greatest warrior possible, which has kept the Earth and the universe safe from destruction many times.

The Bouncer tetralogy[]
Goku was first seen at his home as Bulma was preparing Ayame's first-ever Dragon Ball hunt on her own. He used to be Ayame's mentor when she was a kid, but over the years since he kept on dying/disappearing many times, her idolness began to fade overtime. By the time the New Earth was restored, she began to trust him again little by little. After Kid Buu was defeated, he still trains Uub at times, but he doesn't leave his family. He does encourage her to take on the mission and gifted her his own Power Pole as her melee weapon, and even his four-star Ball as proof on what the orbs are.
He was seen again as Ayame, on the Nimbus, headed back from Mikado, and he was infuriated on how powerful Dauragon was, who prevented her from accomplishing the mission. He was actually very confident on enlisting Goten and Trunks, as they seemed more powerful than him when he was their age. He figured with the kids, they'd stand a chance to defeat Dauragon, retrieve the missing Dragon Ball, and save the world!
He was seen again at the Lookout where all the Z-Fighters gathered as all 7 Dragon Balls were reunited and Shenron was summoned; he encouraged Ayame to make all 3 wishes, even though they were dwindled to 2 since 1 was to revive a lot of fallen people by Dauragon.
He was mentioned in the Yakuza Saga that Goku could use his Instant Transmission to enlist more help against the neo-Yakuza, even though a small number of fighters were chosen. He wasn't seen much after that as other fighters had a chance to shine.
