Station Square is a 2009 American epic action-adventure romantic comedy-drama film produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, Legendary Entertainment, and Village Roadshow Pictures. Directed by Michael Bay and written by Ehren Kruger and David Koepp, the film features an ensemble cast including .
Station Square premiered at the TCL Chinese Theater on November 6, 2009, and was released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures on November 23, 2009. The film received generally positive reviews from critics and was a financial and box office success, grossing over $205 million worldwide, against a production budget of $30 million. The film was nominated for Golden Globe Awards (including Best Motion Picture – Drama), five Critics' Choice Awards (winning two), 11 Academy Award nominations (including Best Picture), more than any other film that year, winning a leading six awards: Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing, and Best Visual Effects, and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Development[]
On October 14, 2005, Jerry Bruckheimer announced that he and Michael Bay bought the rights to produce an epic movie named Station Square, with Bay directing the movie and Ehren Kruger and David Koepp writing its screenplay. On March 20, 2006, Bay was inspired by Sonic X that the main antagonists would be named the Metarex. On July 10, 2006, it was announced that the film will be released on November 23, 2009.

On January 13, 2007, The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Michael Bay chose as the film's main cast.

Filming[]
Principal photography began in Savannah, Georgia on February 20, 2008, with Bill Pope serving as cinematographer. Filming wrapped on May 14, 2008. The primary visual effects were completed by Industrial Light & Magic and Moving Picture Company.

On December 9, 2006, it was announced that Harry Gregson-Williams will compose the music score for Station Square. The score was recorded at Abbey Road Studios on October 20, 2008.
On July 11, 2009, it was confirmed that Christina Aguilera had provided an English cover to "The Shining Road" (from Sonic X). The track was officially released as a commercial single by Interscope Records on October 16, 2009. The song is played at the film's end credits. The song was widely praised by critics and received nominations for and wins the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Song and the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.
Interscope Records released the film's soundtrack album was released digitally on November 14, 2009, with physical releases on November 23, 2009, featuring the score written by Gregson-Williams and "The Shining Road".

On April 22, 2009, Universal Pictures released the teaser poster was released along with a teaser trailer for the movie. The second and final trailer and the film's official poster were released on August 1, 2009.
Theatrical[]
Station Square had its world premiere at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles, California on November 6, 2009. It was theatrically released in the United States on November 23, 2009.

Extended version[]

On November 30, 2010, an extended edition of the film was released on DVD. This version contained new additions like previously unseen footage. The film, released in 2.35:1 widescreen format, was released with DTS and Dolby Digital sound. The new version of the film has newly recorded commentary to accompany it, featuring Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer.
