The Quest for Beasts: War for the Gods is a 2006 video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal for the PlayStation, Wii and Nintendo DS. In the video game, Daniel Cypher and his friends team up to help the Greek gods when the magical barrier which protects Mount Olympus is crumbling and must team up with heroes from Greek mythology to retrieve several magic items to protect the gods.

Gameplay[]

The game is a front-scroller and players can select weapons to carry out tasks. Many of these tasks involve battling against monsters and other antagonists.

Plot[]

The game opens with a mural depicting scenes from Greek mythology. A narrator tells how the Titans were overthrown by the Olympian gods, culminating in them being banished to the underworld and the Olympians reigning over the universe, but now the gods themselves are in danger.

At JFK Airport, Daniel and his friends are in a restaurant getting on their way to board a plane to Greece. While the gang eat, they notice a mysterious man in a suit with white hair, talking on a phone. The airport is suddenly attacked by a chimaera, which the gang defeat. The man later reveals himself to be Zeus and other passengers that the monster attacked are the other Greek gods.

Zeus warns the gang that the barrier surrounding Mount Olympus is beginning to weaken and disintegrate and the only way to strengthen it and defeat the Titans who are beginning to break free is by teaming up with ancient Greek heroes-Hercules, Odysseus, Perseus, Theseus, Jason and Achilles-and achieve several magical items.

The gang are sent to Greece, and the first item they must retrieve is the cloak of Selene, goddess of the moon. To retrieve it, they must travel to the Mountain of The Moon. On route they encounter the winged horse Pegasus, who is being attacked by ghosts sent from the Underworld.
