The Tesseract was a crystalline cube-shaped containment vessel for the Space Stone, one of the six Infinity Stones that predate the universe and possess unlimited energy. It was created in 1285. It was owned by Lovelace, before General Carlos E. Carlos steals it. After the death of Henry J. Smek, Bernard opens it and discovers the Space Stone. Before leaving Ahch-To, Rey steals the Tesseract and takes it forward to Snoke. However, Ben Livingston destroys the Tesseract and steals the Space Stone, after killing Snoke.
