Triforce

The Triforce, also known as the Golden Power, the Ultimate Power, and the Power of the Chosen One, is a sacred golden relic left behind by the Golden Goddesses, Din, Nayru, and Farore, once they finished creating the realm, which came to be known as Hyrule. The Goddess Hylia was tasked with the protection of this world and the Triforce. After Hylia ceases to exist as a goddess, the Triforce is protected by the Royal Family of Hyrule, the Sages, and the Sheikah.

The Triforce consists of three separate triangles: the Triforce of Power is always depicted as the top piece, with the Triforce of Courage typically represented by the right piece, and the Triforce of Wisdom typically represented by the left piece. Although the Triforce was created by gods, it can never be used by one, possibly the goddesses' way of giving hope to all the mortal beings in Hyrule.

The Triforce had the same functions as it would in the games, even obsessing people looking for it as well as the Sacred Realm, causing many wars including the Hyrulean Civil War, Imprisonment War, etc. After Ganondorf laid his hands on the sacred relic, it split into 3: Link had Courage, Zelda/Sheik had Wisdom, and Ganondorf only had Power. Zelda II was curious if whether or not she had the True Force, a balance between the 3 as a Trainer and a savior of Hyrule. In the end of the Imprisonment War, it was proven true! As Link found out mysteries in the Pyramid of Power at the Dark World, there's an eternal struggle between each incarnate of the Hero, descendant of Hylia, and descendant of Demise! Link made the heart-wrenching decision to have all 3 wielders pass to break the cycle: no bearers no more incarnate. The 3 pieces reunited, and he begged Zelda II to make a wish to restore Hyrule and the Sacred Realm, but mostly to break the eternal cycle. It hasn't been seen after that.

Unlike the games, as Link, Zelda and Ganondorf attained the pieces, it showed them their vitality. If they should become weak, so would their pieces, if they get strong, they shine! And at one point, Zelda II noticed warmth inside her; turned out Link in his comatose state was empowering her as she ventured thru the Shadow Temple solely. It was later revealed that Link passed half of his essence to her, and they didn't know. The Great Fairy needed help to recover Link and Zelda as she needed to save them as well as their pieces, to which the Pokémon assisted. The third time was when Link became corrupt by Namira as Zelda II came to the conclusion, she warped his Triforce piece, churning from Courage to emitting fear, thus her nightmares.

During the Imprisonment War, the three pieces were still separated. It wasn't until Link decided to sacrifice himself along with slaying Ganondorf and to let Zelda die too that the Triforce merged again. The True Force was actually held by Zelda II as she'd the perfect balance of Power, Wisdom and Courage being a Trainer. It granted her that one wish to cleanse Hyrule and the Sacred Realm and undo everything the descendant of Demise corrupted. Since then, it was never seen nor fraught upon ever again.
