The Virtual Dungeon was Grimlord's original villainous base in season 1 and for part of season 2 of VR Troopers. Upon his transformation within his office building as Karl Ziktor, Grimlord would materialize upon his throne in the Virtual Dungeon. The main chamber was ringed with small chambers from which his various monsters and henchmen would appear. Typically, his four army leaders -- Decimator, Zelton, Toxoid and Blue Boar -- would be at the forefront of the crowd. General Ivar and Colonel Icebot, despite also being Grimlord's key lieutenants, would never appear in person; they were typically situated within Grimlord's Air Castle, and would appear as necessary via an energy screen Grimlord could project from his finger.
The Virtual Dungeon also had a self-destruction system (similar to a time bomb) that was used twice: The first was in Part 4 of "Defending Dark Heart", where Ryan and Tyler Steele (as Dark Heart) faced Grimlord, who set the Dungeon to vaporize; and the second was in Part 2 of "Quest for Power" when Ryan went to rescue Tyler, as Grimlord set the Dungeon to actually self-destruct with Ryan still inside (he survived). In both cases, the system utilized a 2-screen timer that showed the minutes on the left screen and the seconds on the right, and the timer was set to 3 minutes.
Most of the inhabitants of the Virtual Dungeon were destroyed in the explosion, although Grimlord's gunbots and tankbots along with Air Stryker and Fighterbot survived. General Ivar and Colonel Icebot did as well, although as mentioned they were never physically present within the dungeon.
We Are VR Troopers![]
Although it was already destroyed several weeks prior to the VR War, Razor Kidd and Ryan keep having flashbacks upon its scary destruction! Especially when Grimlord rigged the dungeon as Ryan was obsessively looking for his father! He never took Jeb's nor Kidd's advice on leaving, which was futile anyway considering they were trapped with no way out! They soon reached the throne room, but with no traces of ANY of the mutants, Grimlord, nor Tyler! In a temper tantrum, Razor Kidd decimated chunks of a nearby wall as time was running out! Taking this random idea out of desperation, that stunt saved the trio's lives as the dungeon was wiped out from all realities!
