The Web Riders are a group of people that live in the Web. They have the same dark scales as a Web Creature does. Some have tall thin heads and bodies, while others are short and portly. A few have fangs. Web Riders communicate in a series of high-pitched tones. It's suggested that they were former sprites, horribly deformed by the web due to lack of protection.
The Web Riders herd the Web Creatures that are found in abundance in the Web. It is unknown what they use the creatures for. They ride a small version of the Web Creatures while herding the larger ones.
Web Riders have a code of honor, if their helmets are knocked off during a fight they are dishonored by the opponent. They do not take kindly to people from the Net entering the Web especially if they bother the creatures they're herding. When they attack a large target, they will often herd the larger creatures toward it, who will automatically attack the target.
The Riders sometimes eat a small black Web Slug. The creature is alive at the time, and many say they don't like the way it wiggles all the way down. Eating one proves you are a warrior.

The ReBoot Multiuniverse[]
They were first encountered inside the Web as the Saucy Mare and its crew reached their territory in search for Bob and Mainframe. They were very intimidating, formidable opponents, not even Akari and her Pokémon can take them on! Not even the Ghost-Types and her durable Pokémon like Sneasel, Scizor, Steelix, and Kingler.
They even invaded the ship directly, and Mewtwo was about to unleash his pent-up fury which in turn can destroy the ship! Luckily, Samus and Bob, along with a few docile Riders, held them back! It was revealed by the bounty hunter that when he defeated Ridley at his hideout in Norfair, she found the baby Metroid missing, though she saved the docile Web Riders. They mentioned that most of their kind were corrupt by a super virus, turning out to be Daemon, and escaped their aggressiveness, but were captured by space pirates since they despised them!
They assisted Bob and Samus for a while till Mother Brain and disguised him as Interface to hide his code from viral threats, including Megabyte.
They stayed in the Saucy Mare after repairing it, till Mouse's traps caused them to go outside and erase the acidic pixels! Then, they were separated by the buffers before the heroes got to Mainframe.

- Ikran always thought the Metroids were the inspiration for the Web Riders/Creatures from ReBoot, one of several elements that were inspired sharing the two series. So too of how territorial and volatile they are even as life drainers and aliens, even when the Space Federation persecuted them just as the Guardians did to the Web Creatures.
