Wuzzleburg is a 2019 American epic action-adventure romantic comedy-drama film directed by Colin Trevorrow, who co-wrote the screenplay with Emily Carmichael from a story by Derek Connolly and Trevorrow. Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, Legendary Pictures, and Village Roadshow Pictures, the film features an ensemble cast including .

Wuzzleburg premiered in Los Angeles on October 13, 2019, and was released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures on October 16. The film was a smash hit at the box office, being near–universally acclaimed by critics, with praise for its cast's performances, visuals, storyline, characterization, soundtrack, costumes, and action sequences, and grossed $384 million against its $100 million production budget. It had a simultaneous release in IMAX format.

On October 14, 2015, Neal H. Moritz announced that he bought the rights to produce an epic comedy movie named Wuzzleburg, with Colin Trevorrow directing the movie. On July 10, 2016, it was announced that the film will be released on November 23, 2019.

Filming[]

Principal photography began in Belfast, Northern Ireland on August 15, 2018, with Bill Pope serving as cinematographer. Filming wrapped on October 12, 2018. The primary visual effects were completed by Industrial Light & Magic and Moving Picture Company.

On December 9, 2017, it was announced that Harry Gregson-Williams will compose the music score for Wuzzleburg.

On September 25, 2019, it was confirmed that Ariana Grande had provided a cover to "Bridge of Light" (from Happy Feet Two). The track was officially released as a commercial single by Interscope Records on October 2. The song is played at the film's end credits. The song was widely praised by critics and received nominations for and wins the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Song and the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.

Hollywood Records released the film's soundtrack album digitally on November 2, 2009, with physical releases on November 18, featuring the score written by Gregson-Williams and "Bridge of Light".

Marketing[]

On March 18, 2019, Universal Pictures released the teaser poster and the first trailer. On April 6, it was announced that the first looks at the characters were announced through photography from the movie. The second and final trailer and the film's poster were released on September 4, 2019. Updated posters featuring the characters were released on September 17.

Theatrical[]

Wuzzleburg had its world premiere at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles, California on October 13, 2019, and was theatrically released in the United States on October 16, 2019, in 4DX and Dolby Cinema formats.
