Yu-Gi-Oh! The Thousand Year Door (Also known as Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters Advance: The Thousand Year Door for Japanese viewers) is an upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! / Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door crossover fanfic with new main characters based on Yu-Gi-Oh! and the characters from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. It is being written by Mattstonge and all fanmade characters for the story belong to him. It is in the continuity of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters anime series, due to the main protagonist (Matt Mutou) being the eighteen year old son of Yugi Mutou and Anzu Mazaki and the new King of Games. The story being set thirty-eight years after the original series ended.

- The names of the characters from the Paper Mario game will be based on the North American version.
- Many of the cards and rules used in this story are based on their TCG/OCG counterparts but some will be played like their Anime/Manga counterparts, examples are Card of Sanctity (draw till you have six cards), Magical Hats (remain in effect till all empty hats are gone), 4000 Life Points, etc.
- Card names in the story will be based on their dub and real life names,.
- There are lots of new cards in this story (Monsters, Spells, Traps, etc.), mainly based on enemies fought in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.
